After finishing his study in electrical engineering (Diplom-Ingenieur FH) in Dortmund, Thomas Tschersich assumed until 2001, among others, the organization and functional directive of the Deutsche Telekom network security team.
From 2001 to 2007 he was in charge of the department security strategy and politics. From 2007 until 2009 he stablished the department Technical Security Services and after this the department Group IT Security.
Once he assumed in 2014 the department managing of the Group Security Services he performed as Deutsche Telekom Chief Security Officer.
Since January 2017 Thomas Tschersich is Vice President of the Telekom Security Internal Security & Cyber Defense department and is responsible concerning its Managed Cyber Defense Portfolio.
He additionally is taking an active part in several consulting functions, for example as member of the cyber security council, in the “UP Kritis Rat” and as the BITKOM executive committee’s chairman.
