Fabian Taigel studied Technical Mathematics at the University of Innsbruck and received a master’s degree in Economathematics from the University of Würzburg. Since April 2015 he is research assistant in the group data-driven operations management at the chair of Logistics at the University Wuerzburg, that aims at developing new approaches to integrate data into decision support models for operations and supply chain management. The group uses advanced machine learning techniques not only to predict demand (which is the classical approach) but also to directly prescribe decisions. The group has attracted a number of companies as collaborators and has experience in working with datasets from various fields (service companies, such as restaurants or logistics service providers, manufacturing companies, call centers and retailers).
