Roland Goetzke (PhD) is a geographer and has been working as a senior consultant in the German Federal Ministry of Transport and digital Infrastructure (BMVI) since 2015 in the field of open governmental data. He has started his work with the implementation of a geo-information strategy for the ministry, in which common rules for the handling of digital geodata were agreed, and is now mainly dedicated to the development of the open data portal mCLOUD (for open data of the transport sector). Previously he worked as a scientist with “big data” at the German Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) as part of the simulation of future settlement development in Germany and at the University of Bonn in the field of remote sensing.
